You name it, I'll do it! That seems to be my motto more and more in the past year. From a mermaid on the beach, to a greasy mechanic, the themes are endless and the sky is the limit! Creating sets and bringing to life the one of kind Cake Smash sessions that parents dream up is becoming a real passion of mine. Each session is an enjoyable challenge and a way for me to grow as an artist. If you want something creative or unique for your baby's Cake Smash session, I'm your girl! But I can't take all the credit, I have a talented baker Renea's Great Cakes and Cupcakes at www.facebook.com/Reneascupcakes/ helping pave my way to greatness. She is extremely talented and dots the i's and crosses the t's to every idea I throw her way. This session was a perfect example when I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted the cake to be like but she told me she had an idea and bravo, together we made this Cake Smash session come to life!
Twins!! Oh, how I LOVE LOVE LOVE a set of twins, even more so when they are Boy/Girl twins. I was so excited to photograph these two very little sweeties. They were oh so tiny all wrapped up together and were incredibly easy to work with. I know I have said it before but the twin sessions run smoother than the single newborn sessions because they sooth and comfort each other naturally. Mom chose an earthy theme for their nursery so I hand selected natural colors and props to make their newborn session one of kind. These two were so perfect that I didn't want to disturb them. Each set-up they were so calm and peaceful it was very hard to move on to the next. They allowed me to get lots of practice and a variety of angles with each pose with much ease. Mom said she hadn't planned on having a newborn session but once they arrived she knew she MUST have one done and wow, I am sure glad she did!
Winters in Ohio are not exactly everyone's favorite time to be outside for a portrait session. I for one, actually despise this time of year but there is just something so perfect about a winter maternity session. The contrast of the snow, the willingness of the couple to snuggle closer to stay warmer, the birth of new life as spring emerges, it's enough to warm any heart. We were exceptionally lucky to get a perfectly sunny afternoon in March with tolerable temperatures but even so we wrapped up our outdoor adventure quickly and finished this maternity session in the studio. It was the first time ever that I had done outdoor and studio maternity in one combined session and I must say, I liked it! Outdoor and studio maternity offer different styles and it was really neat to have both with the same couple. I honestly cannot decided which style I prefer, they are equally beautiful as you can see for perfect images below.
