Mark your calendars for this summers mini session schedule!
The strawberry mini will take place at Tyler Barn in the Rocky River Reservation on Sunday, June 24th.
The Beach Mini will take place at Edgewater Beach in Cleveland on Wednesday, July 11th in the evening.
This is the last year for the Sunflower Field, Full and mini sessions will be offered during the dates of September 15th-23rd in Avon. These dates are still pending on the planting schedule that has not been released yet.
Mini sessions are for CURRENT CLIENTS ONLY (unless you have won a prize from an earlier contest). The reason behind this is because mini sessions are very fast paced (15 minute slots). It is too hard for me to "get to know your child/family" during that time frame and the mini experience is personal and intimate. Full sessions are available for purchase if you are interested in the mini theme but are a new client.
Time schedules and sign-ups will be announced for each mini separately a couple of weeks before it's scheduled session date. Please feel free to message me with any information and questions to Newarrivalsphotography@gmail.com
Drum roll, it's newborn baby boy season!!! Boys...boys...boys! This week alone, I have 4...FOUR newborn baby boys! It always happens like that, waves of one gender for about a month or two and then it switches. I have been doing this long enough that I'm often able to predict what a "surprise" baby will be. Unless they are on the cusp of a switch over then it's more challenging for me to guess! This sweet newborn was the perfect kick-off for my intense 7 session week ahead. He was perfectly content letting me pose him in additional poses and so relaxed. He was the best little model to calm my nerves about how busy I will be the next couple weeks. Looking at his pictures brings great pleasure that I call this my job! So many newborns to look forward to!!
You name it, I'll do it! That seems to be my motto more and more in the past year. From a mermaid on the beach, to a greasy mechanic, the themes are endless and the sky is the limit! Creating sets and bringing to life the one of kind Cake Smash sessions that parents dream up is becoming a real passion of mine. Each session is an enjoyable challenge and a way for me to grow as an artist. If you want something creative or unique for your baby's Cake Smash session, I'm your girl! But I can't take all the credit, I have a talented baker Renea's Great Cakes and Cupcakes at www.facebook.com/Reneascupcakes/ helping pave my way to greatness. She is extremely talented and dots the i's and crosses the t's to every idea I throw her way. This session was a perfect example when I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted the cake to be like but she told me she had an idea and bravo, together we made this Cake Smash session come to life!
Twins!! Oh, how I LOVE LOVE LOVE a set of twins, even more so when they are Boy/Girl twins. I was so excited to photograph these two very little sweeties. They were oh so tiny all wrapped up together and were incredibly easy to work with. I know I have said it before but the twin sessions run smoother than the single newborn sessions because they sooth and comfort each other naturally. Mom chose an earthy theme for their nursery so I hand selected natural colors and props to make their newborn session one of kind. These two were so perfect that I didn't want to disturb them. Each set-up they were so calm and peaceful it was very hard to move on to the next. They allowed me to get lots of practice and a variety of angles with each pose with much ease. Mom said she hadn't planned on having a newborn session but once they arrived she knew she MUST have one done and wow, I am sure glad she did!
Winters in Ohio are not exactly everyone's favorite time to be outside for a portrait session. I for one, actually despise this time of year but there is just something so perfect about a winter maternity session. The contrast of the snow, the willingness of the couple to snuggle closer to stay warmer, the birth of new life as spring emerges, it's enough to warm any heart. We were exceptionally lucky to get a perfectly sunny afternoon in March with tolerable temperatures but even so we wrapped up our outdoor adventure quickly and finished this maternity session in the studio. It was the first time ever that I had done outdoor and studio maternity in one combined session and I must say, I liked it! Outdoor and studio maternity offer different styles and it was really neat to have both with the same couple. I honestly cannot decided which style I prefer, they are equally beautiful as you can see for perfect images below.
SAVE THE DATE!!! Mark your calendars everyone. This years spring mini sessions will be on Sunday, April 22nd and will feature the flower wreath shown (this is not a digital backdrop). I have not yet decided if these will be outdoor (on-location) or in the studio. Sign-up for the sessions will be posted at the start of April. Make sure to turn on your notification settings for my facebook business page so that you don't miss the first come, first served time slots. Price information will be announced with the sign-up post.
February has finally arrived! My excitement for this month has been building since late November when I signed up for a newborn posing workshop with my favorite photographer, Ellie Mellie Photography. I was so very excited to meet my "photog crush" and to have her instruct me with advanced newborn posing techniques. The Potato pose shown below, was one that I have wanted to learn for the last year and it was crucial that I was trained by someone who is certified in newborn safety and posing. She offers many classes in the winter each year and I will be taking her advanced editing workshop next!
I don't want to take all the magic out of this image except to tell you, that baby is NOT sitting up alone in this image. A spotter is holding him safely in place and editing is what makes this image what it is. I was very excited to learn how to pose other advanced newborn composites and I am looking forward to exercising those techniques with the many newborns on my calendar this spring.
If you are expecting a New Arrival this year, please visit my newborn page here to learn more about booking your very own session.
The holidays are upon us and there is no shortage of hustle and bustle in my studio. During my 9 day Thanksgiving break, 6 New Arrivals babies blessed the world just in time for the most magical time of year. What makes last weekends two newborn sessions so special is, the 3 babies are all cousins! Three precious Christmas gifts for two wonderful families. When both moms contacted me this fall, I would have put my money on the twins arriving first but low and behold they came two days after their equally adorable girl cousin. Both newborn sessions had elements of the Christmas season with the twins having custom hats made by Sweet Sugar Stitches. Thank you ladies for helping me kick of the holiday season with some of the sweetest faces around. It will be exciting to see what we come up with for the next 3 newborn sessions this month which will sure to be filled with more holiday cheer!
If this doesn't give you a hankering for a sticky and sweet stack of pancakes for your Sunday breakfast, I don't know what will! I have been dreaming about this Cake Smash Session ever since I ordered his cake (yes, that's actually a cake) by the talented Renea's Great Cakes and Cupcakes. When his mom showed me his lumberjack shirt, I knew exactly the set I wanted to create. What a way to end his 1st year Baby Bundle Package. He's my second ever Baby Bundle client, which is my rewards system when you book (newborn, 3, 6 and 9 months, you get your cake smash session for half-off).
I have to admit, when I first started my business, I was not super fond of the cake smash session. It's definitely my most challenging age group but I've since changed my tune. Now, I really LOVE them because it's a chance to let my creative juices flow and create adorable sets for my perfect one year old models. Not to mention, having an amazing baker to help your dreams come true!
As my slow season is inching it's way more near and I close for the holidays, I can't help but to look forward to my last couple cake smash sessions in December and for the many I know that will come in the new year!
My little "show stopping" star model was back in the studio today to melt all your hearts!!! It had been so long since I last had this doll face in my studio and I was so very excited to whip up one of my "signature theme sessions." I cannot believe she is TWO!!! This little lady has held such a special spot in my heart and I have watched her grow and my work evolve through the last two years or photographing her. We have many more tricks up our sleeves this fall for her, just you wait and see what fun she will bring to my studio!
